Principal Budhram

Chandigarh, February 27: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken an exception to the government’s indifferent attitude towards the demands of the teachers in the state, who were fighting for their legitimate rights. It has appealed to those helming the affairs to be respectful to the teachers and resolve their issues on a priority basis.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Wednesday, Budhram said that the government was insensitive to the demands of the teachers currently on warpath in the state. Accusing the government of highhandedness towards the teachers, Budhram said that, instead of acceding to their ‘genuine’ demands, it was indulging in oppressive measure against them which, he said, was anti-education and anti-teaching community. He said the teachers were performing the duties of producing future vanguards of the country.

Budhran further added that what to talk of conceding their demands, the government was not willing to give them even a patient hearing to resolve the issues on hand. He said the act on the part of the government showed its anti-public face, besides undermining the authority of the teaching community, which, he said was unfortunate.

Budhram appealed to the government to shun its anti-employee stance and come out with lasting solution to their problem, thereby bringing the beleaguered education setup back on the track so that they could devote more on imparting quality education to students instead of resorting to protests for the acceptance of their demands.
