Airport Road and Housing Board Chowk Among Affected Routes; Chandigarh Police and Mohali SSP Provide Guidance

Chandigarh Traffic Advisory

Chandigarh Traffic Advisory: Chandigarh is set to experience disruptions in traffic flow today in light of the continuing farmers' agitation. This will lead to road closures and diversions. The Chandigarh Police has released a comprehensive traffic advisory to inform the public about the affected areas and alternative routes.

The Primary Routes affected include the road from Tribune Chowk to the airport and the central road connecting Panchkula to Chandigarh. Commuters are strongly advised to avoid these routes during the specified period. Chandigarh Police has emphasized the need for public cooperation and adherence to the guidelines outlined in the advisory.

Closure Duration and Alternative Routes:

According to the advisory, the road adjacent to Mohali Golf Range and Railway Track Phase-11 at Village Fayda Junction No. 63 East Road will be closed from November 25 to November 28. This closure directly impacts the route leading to Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport.

For individuals traveling towards the Airport, Aerocity, and Bastach Mall from Chandigarh, the recommended alternative is to take the slip road from Fayda Barrier Junction No. 63 to the left. Subsequently, commuters should turn towards Airport Road from Sector 46/47/48/49 Chowk Junction No. 62, which will remain open during this period. Those heading towards Patiala, Sangrur, Sirsa, and Ambala have been advised to take the route directly to Zirakpur from Tribune Chowk, which will remain fully accessible.

Special Instructions:

The general public is urged to avoid the road leading to the airport from Tribune Chowk and explore alternate routes to minimize inconvenience. Simultaneously, Mohali's SSP, Dr. Sandeep Garg, has also released an advisory related to the farmers' movement. Traffic closures will be in effect from Jagatpura Sector 48/49 Light Point to Baba White House starting from 12 noon on November 25 until 12 noon on November 28.

In addition, the ongoing strike of the Quami Insaaf Morcha has already led to the closure of the road to YPS Chowk, further impacting the flow of traffic in the region. Motorists and residents are urged to stay informed, exercise caution, and follow the provided guidance to navigate the temporary changes in traffic patterns effectively.
