Punjab Weather Update: Punjab Receives Heavy Rainfall, Offers Relief From Sweltering Heatwave

Punjab Weather Forecast Update Latest News Today: Heavy rainfall across Punjab has brought a welcome respite from the sweltering heatwave that has gripped the state. While the showers have lowered temperatures, they have also led to waterlogging in several districts, causing traffic delays.
India Meteorological Department predicts continued heavy rainfall in the coming days, which could bring further cooling to the region.
Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, and Mohali are among the districts expected to receive heavy rain, while showers are also forecast for Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. Patiala, on the other hand, may only experience lighter rainfall.
Chandigarh saw 31 mm of rainfall yesterday, resulting in a slight temperature drop of 0.7 degrees. Despite the rain, high temperatures persist across the state, with Faridkot recording 39.5°C, Bathinda 37.9°C, Ludhiana 36.3°C, and Amritsar 35.4°C.
In Chandigarh, after the rain, the temperature dropped by 1.1 degrees, but still remained high at 36.2°C, exceeding normal levels by 4.3 degrees.
