Punjab Weather Today: Very Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms Predicted for August 26
From the day after tomorrow, the weather is likely to get pleasant as no warnings have been issued in the state.
Punjab Weather Warnings for August 26, Latest News: Several districts in Punjab are under red alert. Districts have been warned of very heavy rainfall on August 26.
Punjab Weather Forecast for the Entire Day for August 26: In its forecast, a prediction for the entire day for August 26, the India Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, has issued red alerts in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, and Sangur, warning of very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and Squalls.
The rest of the districts in the state have been placed under an orange alert with the same weather warnings as of those under the red alert, except SAS Nagar and Fazilka, which have been placed under a yellow alert warning of the same weather conditions.
Punjab Weather Observed in the past 24 hours
Compared to yesterday, as reported at 8:30 am, today there is a rise of 0.3 degrees Celsius in the average minimum temperature and it is near normal in the state. Gurdaspur and Pathankot recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 20.5 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, Gurdaspur and Amritsar recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 189.8 mm and 154.2 mm, respectively.
Punjab Weather Outlook For August 27 and for The Next Few Days:
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in various districts on August 27. North Punjab districts and a few Eastern districts have been issued an orange alert, warning of very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, Squalls and other adverse weather conditions.
The districts under the orange alert on August 27 are: Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh, and Patiala.
The remaining districts are under a yellow alert and have been warned of heavy rainfall accompanied by similar weather conditions as those under the orange alert.
The Punjab districts under the yellow alert on August 27 are: Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mohali (SAS Nagar), Muktsar, Sangur, and Nawanshahr.
From the day after tomorrow, the weather is likely to get pleasant as no warnings have been issued in the state, except a yellow alert in a few northern states in the coming days.
