DC Inaugurates Study Center in Gurdaspur

GURDASPUR (Avtar Singh): The Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, Dr. Himanshu Agarwal inaugurated the new building of the study center in the slums built in the village Mankaur of the district. This aims to provide bright future to the children living in the slums. On this occasion, the DC said that this study center will prove to be a boon for the child who lives life by begging or picking garbage and the child will get a chance to be advance in life.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nidhi Kumud said that due to the high thinking of National Awardee Romesh Mahajan, this center has become a study center for destitute children living in slums. She said that this study center, was operating in a tent in slum area from the past 6 years. Now, a 10-marla plot was purchased and a building was constructed here so that children can get education in a good and clean environment. 

Notably, These golden moments were very precious for these children as this building, built with the intention of rising above begging or litter picking and moving forward in life, would prove to be a true temple of learning. The two teachers employed here are also fully dedicated towards providing good education to the children.
