Punjab Budget 2025 Session Highlights, Harpal Cheema Speech Today: Punjab's Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday presented the state's fourth budget today during the budget session in Punjab's Vidhan Sabha.

12:47 PM: No new tax in the budget
No new tax has been imposed in the budget. Along with this, no big announcement of one thousand rupees for women was also made.

Court complexes will be built in Derabassi, Khanna and Pattran at a cost of Rs 132 crore.

The government kept a fund of Rs 11,560 crore in the budget for the Home, Justice and Jail Department.

12:22 PM: Fund of Rs 230 crore for employment
The Punjab government has allocated a fund of Rs 230 crore for generating employment in the budget. This is 50 per cent more than last year.

The Punjab government has allocated Rs 17,975 crore in the budget for education. This is 12 percent of the total budget.

The government increased the budget for agriculture by five percent. Rs 14,524 crore has been allocated for agriculture in the budget. A provision of Rs 9992 crore has been made for electricity subsidy to farmers. The government has made a provision of five hundred crore rupees for crop residue management.

The fee of Rs 120 earlier being charged for door step delivery for various services has been reduced to Rs 50.

11:47 AM: The government will bring a new industrial policy
The Punjab government will bring a new industrial policy. This will encourage industries as well as create employment opportunities.

11:46 AM: 2.5 lakh street lights will be installed
Now Punjab will not have Batti Gul but Batti Full Punjab. 2.5 lakh street lights will be installed in Punjab. These street lights will be installed through people's domestic connections. People will not pay the bill for this. The amount of that many units will be deducted from the bill. A provision of Rs. 7,614 crores has been made for 300 units of free electricity.

11:40 AM: 347 E-buses will be started
347 e-buses will be started in Punjab.

11:36 AM: Construction of world class roads in districts
World class roads will be constructed in the districts of Punjab. This includes Mohali, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar. Major roads have been identified in this.

11:35 AM: Rangla Punjab Vikas Yojana will be started in every district
Under the Rangla Punjab vision of the AAP government, Rangla Punjab Vikas Yojana will be started in every district, which will meet the local development needs. The funds will be spent by the District Deputy Commissioners on the recommendations of MLAs, communities and citizens.Development will be promoted in all areas including roads, bridges, streetlights, clinics, hospitals, schools, water, sanitation,  A total of Rs 585 crore (five crore for each assembly constituency) has been allocated in the budget, which will provide direct benefits to the general public

11:24 AM: Health cards will be issued to everyone.

65 lakh families in Punjab will be brought under health insurance cover. A budget of Rs 778 crore has been kept for a healthy Punjab. Cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh will be possible in government and private hospitals. The insurance coverage in Punjab has now been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

11:20 AM: Government will promote sports
To promote sports, every village will have playgrounds and indoor gyms. 87 playgrounds have already been built in Tarn Taran. In the budget, the government has made a provision of Rs 979 crore for the sports department. Grounds for famous sports will be built in villages. These sports have been identified.

11:16 AM: Government will conduct drug census in Punjab
The government will conduct drug census in Punjab. It will spend Rs. 150 crore on this. A budget provision of Rs. 110 crore has been made for anti-drone system on the border.

11:13 AM: We will make Punjab drug free
Cheema said that Akali Dal and Congress cheated Punjab and made it a drug-ridden state. We have to end drug addiction in Punjab.

11:10 AM: The  Budget is of  2 lakh 36 thousand crores,  Punjab government has presented a budget of two lakh 36 thousand 080 crores. The government has got 14 percent increase in tax revenue.
