Gurmeet Singh Pinky Cat Death News Today: Gurmeet Singh, a dismissed Punjab police inspector and a muder convict, has died of dengue on Wednesday. Gurmeet Singh was prominently known as 'Pinky Cat'.
According to information, Gurmeet Singh alias Pinky Cat was diagnosed with dengue and was unwell for a long time. Reportedly, he was admitted to a private hospital in Chandigarh where he took his last breath.
It has also been reported that the last rites of Pinky Cat would be done after his daughter would return to India from abroad. It is also pertinent to mention that Gurmeet Singh had a daughter from his second marriage.
Who was Gurmeet Singh Pinky Cat?
It may be recalled that Gurmeet Singh underwent life sentence for the killing of Ludhiana-based Avtar Singh Golal in 2001. He rose to fame after nabbing Khalistani militant Jagtar Singh Hawara twice. Besides, he has also won a police gallantry medal.
However, he engaged himself into several controversies after Avtar Golal's murder. He had also claimed that he had evidence of 52 fake encounters during the time of terrorism in Punjab.
He was also a talk of town during the farmers’ agitation against controversial farm laws in New Delhi. Likewise, he was spotted with several BJP union ministers and a controversial Nihang dera head whose men were accused of killing a sacrilege accused.
