Punjab Weather Update: Very Heavy Rain Predicted in Several States For August 25 Latest NewsAn orange and a yellow alert is in place for several districts of Punjab, issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, on 25 August. Under the orange alert, four districts, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupanagar, and Gurdaspur, have been warned of very heavy rain.
Meanwhile, the yellow alerts have been issued in seven districts of the state, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and more adverse weather conditions.
The districts under the yellow alerts are Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Kaurthala, Nawashahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, and SAS Nagar.
No alerts have been issued in the remaining districts for today.
A yellow alert warning of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and more adverse weather conditions remains in place for the next two days in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupanagar, and Gurdaspur.
Weather Observed in the Past 24 hours: Firozpur district received the maximum rainfall in the state at 78.0 mm rainfall, while Pathankot district, which received 51.0 mm rainfall in the same period, recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 21.4 degrees Celsius.
Compared to the day before, today, as reported at 8:30 am, there was a fall of -2.8 degrees Celsius, which is below normal by -2.1 degrees Celsius in the state.
