The action was part of the state government’s War on Drugs campaign, aimed at cracking down on drug trafficking networks. The police used bulldozers to bring down the structure, which belonged to a smuggler identified as Sonu, who has been facing six cases of drug trafficking over the past three years.
A senior police officer hailed the operation as a landmark moment in Punjab’s ongoing battle against narcotics. “We will not show any leniency towards those involved in drug trafficking and organized crime,” he stated, emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drug-related offenses.
Officials also confirmed that similar operations will be carried out against other criminals who have built illegal properties linked to unlawful activities. The latest demolition sends a strong message to those involved in the illicit drug trade that strict action awaits them.
