Lawrence Bishnoi Interview Case Latest News Today: The Punjab and Haryana High Court continues its hearing on the controversial interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, which took place while he was in police custody. During the proceedings, the Punjab government informed the court that disciplinary actions have been initiated against the officers involved.
Show cause notices have been served to the then SSP, SP, DSP, and the CIA in-charge at the time of the interviews. It has been confirmed that the first interview occurred at CIA Kharar, while the second one took place in Rajasthan.
Question on CIA In-Charge's Extension
During the hearing, the High Court inquired about the current postings of the officers who received the show cause notices and asked why only notices had been issued so far. In response, the government stated that the process had begun. The court directed the government to provide the details through an affidavit.
The court also specifically questioned the status of Kharar CIA in-charge Shiv Kumar, who has since retired but was granted an extension. The judges requested detailed information on the reasons behind this extension and asked for clarity on the basis for such a decision.
