Police Traces Muktsar Blind Murder Case, Four Arrested Of Devinder Bambiha Gang

Chandigarh : The organised crime control unit (OCCU) of Punjab Police has solved a blind murder case which occurred on 11 March 2018 in Sri Muktsar Sahib in which Gurdev Singh (52 years) was killed in broad day light by some unidentified men. A case of murder was registered in Police Station City Sri Muktsar Sahib in this regard.

Disclosing this here today Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, IGP Intelligence (OCCU) said the victim was a coal merchant in the local market and also dealing in timber business. Since then, the case was undetected and OCCU team took over the investigation which was supervised by AIG Sandeep Goel.

He added that during it was found that motive behind this killing was car-jacking as the criminals wanted to snatch swift dzire car of the victim. During the investigation, the OCCU Team found the hands of Bambiha gang in this case. He informed that one member of this gang Ajay Faridkotia was intensively questioned in this case who confessed the crime and named other culprits Amna Jaito, Amritpal Baba, Rakesh Kaku and Komaljit Singh @ Komal.

IG OCCU informed that Ajay Faridkotia was arrested sometimes back in Moga who was involved in at least two dozen cases of serious nature. Subsequently, Aman Jaito (Faridkot) was brought on production warrant who was already arrested by a team of OCCU. When the case was solved and the investigation team was able to connect the missing links, Amritpal Baba (Muktsar) and Rakesh Kaku(Bathinda) were also arrested. He said the weapon used in this crime was .32 bore pistol which was recovered from the accused.

He further said this case was being investigated by a team of officers led by DSP Vibhor Kumar consisting of Inspector Bikramjit Singh and Inspector Sanjiv Kumar. During the course of investigation, involvement of one Lakhwinder Singh @ Lakha (Muktsar) has come-to-the-fore who assisted the main culprits by arranging the car used in committing the crime. The car has also been recovered by the team.

 He said all the arrested persons have been produced before a court of Muktsar who were remanded in the police custody. Further investigations were going on and some more arrests are expected in this case. Mr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh reiterated said that the OCCU of Punjab Police is committed to eradicate the menace of gangs and organised crime from the soil of Punjab.
