Punjab: Former woman sarpanch shot dead in village Khilan, Mansa

Mansa sarpanch murder: A former woman sarpanch was shot dead on Saturday in village Khilan of Mansa district, triggering tension in the area.

The deceased has been identified as Mahinderjit Kaur (40), who had earlier served as the sarpanch of village Khilan Kalan during the previous term.

According to villagers, a dispute linked to personal enmity had been going on for several days, which is suspected to be the reason behind the killing.
