Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Atishi Claim Threat to Arvind Kejriwal’s Life
Atishi highlighted recent incidents that allegedly underscore the threat.
New Delhi: In a joint press conference, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi alleged that the life of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal is in grave danger.
“We do not trust the Delhi Police,” said CM Mann, adding that Punjab Police received inputs indicating a potential threat to Kejriwal. “Based on this intelligence, the Punjab Police has provided Z+ security to Kejriwal.”
Atishi echoed the concerns, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Delhi Police, led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, of conspiring against the Delhi Chief Minister. “There are two players in this conspiracy: BJP workers and the Delhi Police. A joint effort is being made to harm Kejriwal,” she stated.
Citing Past Incidents of Attacks
Atishi highlighted recent incidents that allegedly underscore the threat. “Kejriwal was attacked on October 24 in Vikaspuri, again on November 30 while traveling to a public event in Malviya Nagar, and stones were thrown at his car on January 18 in the New Delhi assembly constituency,” she said.
She accused the Delhi Police of failing to act. “Despite the attacks, no investigation was conducted. On social media, we found that the attackers were BJP workers, but the Delhi Police neither stopped them nor took action,” Atishi alleged.
The claims have intensified the political war of words between AAP and the BJP, with AAP leaders demanding greater accountability and transparency from the Delhi Police.
