In a major crackdown on organised crime, 416 criminal modules were busted, leading to the arrest of 992 gangsters.

Punjab Police News: Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab Gaurav Yadav, on Tuesday, in a statement, said that in 2025, the Punjab Police maintained peace and harmony across the state and successfully resolved all reported terror-related incidents.

The DGP also shared year-long performance data highlighting the work undertaken by the Punjab Police.

According to the data, nearly 40,000 arrests were made and 30,000 FIRs were registered under Yudh Nashiyan Virudh (War Against Drugs), a Punjab government initiative aimed at eradicating the drug menace from the state. During this period, over 2,000 kilograms of heroin were recovered.

The NDPS conviction rate in the state stands at 88 percent, the highest in the country. The Safe Punjab Helpline also crossed 10,000 FIRs, which the DGP described as a key milestone.

Further, PAIS 2.0 has introduced voice analysis to strengthen investigations.

The data also showed a significant reduction in major crimes, with murder down by 8.7 percent, kidnapping and abduction by 10.6 percent, snatching by 19.6 percent, and theft by 34.3 percent.

"Rs. 80 crores lien in cyber fraud out of Rs. 418.29 crores — 4th highest in India," the DGP wrote in a post on X.
