Chilly Weather Descends on Punjab as Temperature Drops Below Normal
Punjab Weather Update Today: Punjab experienced a notable drop in temperatures on Friday, with Patiala, Bathinda, and Ludhiana registering below-normal mercury levels. Ludhiana recorded the lowest temperature at 3.4 degrees Celsius, marking a significant dip of 2.6 degrees Celsius below the usual range. The increasing cold, particularly during the day, is becoming more pronounced compared to previous days. Bathinda reported a maximum temperature of 20.6 degrees Celsius, slightly below the normal range by 0.4 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for dense fog on both Saturday and Sunday. The alert covers seven districts, including Amritsar, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala. Additionally, some areas in Punjab may experience light to moderate rain.
In terms of minimum temperatures, Amritsar recorded 4.8 degrees Celsius, Bathinda 6.0 degrees, Pathankot 7.2 degrees, Faridkot 5.4 degrees, Barnala 5.2 degrees, Ferozepur 5.9 degrees, Jalandhar 4.8 degrees, and Moga 4.9 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Punjab witnessed a decline of 0.9 degrees Celsius, with Pathankot reporting the lowest at 22.8 degrees Celsius.
