Punjab Coronavirus Updates: With a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Punjab government has appealed for the use of masks as part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus. The Health Department, in an advisory issued on Friday, appealed to the public to prioritize mask-wearing and avoid crowded places.

The advisory comes in the wake of the Central Government's alert regarding the emergence of the new variant of Covid-19, JN.1, in multiple states and Union Territories. In a letter addressed to all Civil Surgeons of Subo, the Health Department stressed the strict implementation of Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) to combat the evolving situation.

As per the advisory, the general public is urged to wear masks in crowded places, cover their nose and mouth with a handkerchief while sneezing and coughing, and dispose of used tissues in closed dustbins immediately.
