Punjab News: Liquor and Meat Shops to Shut on Gurpurab in This District
District Magistrate Issues Orders in View of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Birth Anniversary
Guru Nanak Dev Parkash Purab, Jalandhar News: In observance of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, all liquor and meat shops in Jalandhar will remain closed on Saturday, November 25. The orders, issued by District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, aim to facilitate a reverent atmosphere during the occasion.
The city is gearing up for the celebration of Prakash Purab, and as part of the festivities, Nagar Kirtan will be organized on the occasion. Given that there are over 40 liquor and non-vegetarian shops along the Nagar Kirtan route, these establishments will adhere to the closure directive. To ensure the smooth flow of the religious procession, Section 144 will be implemented in the city.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate and Jalandhar Rural Police have received strict orders in this regard. They will diligently enforce Section 144, ensuring that no prohibited shops open along the Nagar Kirtan route. Stringent action will be taken against any violation of these orders to maintain the sanctity of the occasion.
As the city embraces the spiritual significance of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary, the closure of liquor and meat shops aligns with the community's collective commitment to creating an atmosphere of respect and reverence during the Prakash Purab celebrations.
