Seven Punjabi youths stranded in Tajikistan to return home safely : MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney Latest News: Padma Shri Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), has confirmed that seven Punjabi youths stranded near Dushanbe, Tajikistan, will be safely repatriated to India on Monday.

On October 19, the youths had released a video alleging that a fraudulent agent in India had deceived them and that their employers in the city of Rogun were mistreating them.

Dr. Sahney stated that the safety and dignity of every Indian abroad is of utmost importance. He immediately raised the issue with the Indian Embassy in Tajikistan and coordinated efforts to ensure their safe return.

According to sources, Sahney’s office maintained constant contact with the stranded youths and shared their Google locations and passport copies with the Indian Embassy in Tajikistan. He also wrote to the Indian Ambassador in Tajikistan, requesting urgent intervention, and personally offered to pay for their air tickets to expedite their return.

Sahney expressed gratitude to the Indian Embassy for its prompt and positive response. He said this timely action reflects India’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens abroad.

Member of Parliament Sahney reiterated the need for strict action against fraudulent travel agents who lure young people with false promises of overseas employment. Under his humanitarian initiative 'Mission Hope', Dr. Sahney has successfully facilitated the return of over 150 Punjabis from countries including Oman, Libya, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
