Amritpal has been arrested from village Rode in Moga

Amritpal Singh Arrested by Punjab Police

MOGA: 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritapal Singh, who has been absconding since March 18, has been arrested from a village in Moga district. As per the reports, Amritapal Singh will be sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. He was arrested by the Punjab Police from Moga early in the  morning today. 

According to the information received, Amritpal has been arrested from village Rode in Moga. A case has been registered against Amritpal under NSA.

Notably, Fugitive Amritpal was absconding for the last 36 days. Amritpal had attacked the Ajnala police station in Punjab on February 23 for the release of one of his supporters. Since this incident, the police is in search of him. 

On April 20, Amritpal's NRI Wife Kirandeep Kaur was stopped by immigration officials at Amritsar airport. She was going to London. Kirandeep was interrogated for 3 hours at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport. After this, Kirandeep was released.

Punjab Police has confirmed the arrest of Amritpal Singh on Twitter. Police informed that Amritpal Singh was arrested from Moga in Punjab. More details will be shared by Punjab Police later. The Cops have appealed to the citizens to maintain peace and harmony and to verify any fake news before sharing it.
