Parkash Singh Badal

FARIDKOT: Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal appeared in the Faridkot court today in the Kotakpura firing case. The court have granted anticipatory bail to both in this case. The leaders have reached the court today with bail bonds. Meanwhile, a large number of Shiromani Akali Dal supporters gathered in the court. It is being described as a power show of the Akali Dal.

Reportedly, the leaders have been accused of allegedly plotting the Kotakpura firing incident. On February 24, the investigation team presented a challan against 6 persons including the Badals in the court.

Speaking on this occasion, Sukhbir Badal said that the government has registered a false case against them but they have confidence on the court. Earlier, the government of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had also filed a false case against the Badal family, but the court ensured justice in the case. He said that the opponents think that they can intimidate the leaders and workers of SAD by filing false cases, but it will not happen because Shiromani Akali Dal is an organization of martyrs and these cases do not matter to the party.

It is worth mentioning here that on February 24, The SIT headed by ADGP LK Yadav had filed a charge sheet of around 7,000 pages in the court in the Kotakpura firing case, in which Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, former DGP Sumedh Saini and many other police officers were nominated, following which the court summoned all the nominees including Parkash Badal and Sukhbir Badal.
