Punjab Weather: Dense fog blankets parts; orange alert in Amritsar, Tarn Taran
Districts in extreme south-eastern Punjab are likely to witness normal weather conditions, with no warnings issued for these areas.
Punjab Weather: Almost the entire Punjab is likely to experience foggy weather conditions accompanied by cold till noon on 22 December 2025, except for five districts in extreme north-eastern Punjab, according to the latest update issued by the Meteorological Centre, Chandigarh.
Fog conditions are expected to continue on 23 December in several districts. The Punjab State Meteorological Department has placed Tarn Taran and Amritsar under an orange alert, while several nearby districts have been issued a yellow alert.
Meanwhile, districts in extreme south-eastern Punjab are likely to witness normal weather conditions, with no warnings issued for these areas.
As far as the minimum temperature is concerned, today the state recorded a fall of 1 degree Celsius compared to yesterday. However, the average minimum temperature in Punjab remains 3.8 degrees Celsius above normal. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was 7.2 degrees Celsius, recorded at Ludhiana earlier this morning.
On Sunday, during daytime hours, the highest maximum temperature in the state was 21 degrees Celsius, recorded at the Samrala weather station in Ludhiana.
