LUDHIANA: In a harrowing incident, a businessman in Ludhiana, Punjab fell victim to a robbery as he was returning home from his factory on Gill Road. The incident occurred when a car abruptly stopped near the businessman's residence in Kitchlu Nagar. Two assailants, their faces concealed with masks, emerged from the vehicle, wielding a baseball bat, and swiftly assaulted the businessman.

The victim, identified as Sourav Agarwal, was carrying two bags at the time of the attack. The criminals forcibly wrested both bags from him, one containing a substantial sum of approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash, and the other holding a valuable laptop. The ruthless attackers, though masked, managed to escape before police could apprehend them.

The victim, Sourav Agarwal, was gravely injured in the assault and was promptly rushed to a private hospital. Medical professionals attending to him administered necessary stitches to his injured arm. Agarwal recalled that the assailants ambushed him right outside his residence as he returned from the factory, adding that the attackers were wearing face masks, making it impossible for him to identify them.

Local Police from Kitchlu Nagar Police Station and senior police officers, promptly arrived at the scene to gather information from Sourav Agarwal. The police initiated an extensive search for the criminals, with the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Shubham Agarwal, ACP Mandeep Singh, and police teams maintaining a vigilant presence on the streets well into the night.

Following the robbery, the ADCP and ACP, along with the police force, continuously monitored the city's entry and exit points, questioning individuals and scrutinizing vehicles for any suspicious activity. Agarwal informed the police that the stolen items included Rs 6 lakh in cash and a valuable laptop. Additionally, the police have stationed personnel at various key locations throughout the city to identify any suspicious individuals.

Notably, The city's surveillance cameras and privately owned security cameras were thoroughly reviewed as part of the investigation, and special teams were swiftly assembled to trace the stolen vehicle and apprehend the culprits. Authorities have expressed confidence in capturing the suspects shortly, assuring the safety of Sourav Agarwal, whose condition is now stable and out of danger.
