Shocked over the discovery of unprecedented amount of spurious Milk and Milk Products (MMP) in the State, Mr Kahan Singh Pannu Commissioner Food And Drug Administration (CFDA)Punjab has written a letter to all the Deputy Commissioners of the State to involve public especially the wholesalers of MMP in the campaign.

And Police to sensitize them against buying and selling spurious Milk and Milk products and warn them about the penal provisions under Food Safety Act 2006 which entails up to 6 year imprisonment and Rs.10 lakh fine for buying and selling adulterated products and life imprisonment and Rs.10 lakh fine to the manufacturer/seller / distributor of adulterated/ spurious products if it causes loss of life.

Similar meetings are also proposed to be held at Sub-divisional level by the concerned SDMs.
