Punjab Weather News Update Today: Cold day conditions continue to prevail in Punjab as the state registered a fall of -0.1 degrees Celsius, thus enhancing the cold conditions across the state. The India Meteorological Department stated it was still near normal in the state. 

In the meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Bathinda (AMFU) where the mercury level dipped to 4.0 degrees Celsius. 

According to information, Chandigarh recorded 6.5 degrees Celsius, while Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 7.9 degrees Celsius, Amritsar recorded 7.2, Ludhiana 5.6, Patiala 5.8, Pathankot 7.7, Bathinda 4.0, Faridkot 5.0, Gurdaspur 4.5, Ballowal (SBS Nagar) 5.0, Faridkot (AWS) 7.6, Fatehgarh Sahib 6.0, Firozpur 6.4, Samrala (Ludhiana) 6.9, Mohali 6.9, and Ropar recorded 6.6.
  
Earlier, the India Meteorological Department stated that the weather has been dry in Punjab and Haryana while dense to very dense fog was being reported from a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana. Likewise, cold way to severe cold day conditions occurred at many places in Punjab and only a few places in Haryana. 

Similarly, the IMD had also issued a red alert in the state for January 21 and 22.
