Chandigarh School Winter Vacation Holidays Extension News: In a major development, the Chandigarh administration on Monday announced an extension in the winter vacation holidays given the cold wave and dense fog conditions.

In an order issued by the Director of School Education, Chandigarh, it has been written that "In view of the continuing inclement weather conditions - to avoid the exposure of children to this extremely cold weather, there will be no classes in physical mode up to Class V in any Government, Government-Aided and Recognised Private Schools of UT Chandigarh on 23rd, 24th and 25th January 2024. The Schools may organise online classes for these classes."

However, should the school choose to commence physical class for classes VI and above, the school must take appropriate precautions to ensure that no child should suffer exposure to cold weather in schools or during their commute to and from school."

For any physical class on dates 23rd, 24th, and 25th January 2024, the Schools of UT Chandigarh, shall open for students not earlier than 9.30 am and close no later than 4 pm.
