PSDM hosts two day workshop on placement & advocacy workshop on National Skill Qualification Framework...

2 day Joint training workshop

Spokesman News Service, Chandigarh (21st Oct'18): The Punjab Skill Development Mission hosted a 2 day Joint training workshop on Placement Verification and Tracking of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY Scheme). Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the Punjab Skill Development Mission said that the workshop was conducted by National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad (NIRD&PR) for the state of Punjab and Haryana.

Mr. Shankar Dutt, Director (M&E), NiRD&PR addressed the Skill Mission teams of Punjab and Haryana and his team gave a detailed insight into the mechanism of Placement and Tracking of the beneficiaries. The spokesperson said that the review meeting was also conducted to review the progress of 22 Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY Projects) running across the state of Punjab. Mr. Shankar Dutt, Director (M&E), NiRD&PR evaluated the performance of the Project Implementing Agencies on the basis of achieved training target, assessment and certification, placement figures etc.

The spokesperson further said that a state level advocacy workshop on National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) was organized by Punjab Skill Development Mission in collaboration with National Skill Development Agency (NSDA). Participants from NSDA, NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation), SSCs (Sector Skill Councils), Industry, Training Partners took part in the event. 

The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the stakeholders about requirement of NSQF and importance of skilled manpower for industry. Experts deliberated on means to provide skill training to candidates in NSQF and NQAF aligned job roles as per the demand of the industry. Discussion on addition and alignment of new job roles which are industry relevant and also job roles related to traditional art and crafts e.g. Phulkari making, Jutti making etc with NSQF.
