CM Mann Writes to Governor over Release of Outstanding RDF Funds for Rural Development
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Seeks Governor's Intervention, Appeals for Swift Allocation of Crucial Funds to Revitalize Village Development
CHANDIGARH: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a decisive step in addressing the urgent need for funds to resume rural development projects in Punjab. CM Mann has written a formal letter to Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, highlighting the issue of the pending release of Rs 5,637 crores in Rural Development Fund (RDF) by the central government. The delay in disbursing these funds has severely impeded ongoing development initiatives in various villages, prompting the Chief Minister to seek the governor's intervention in resolving the matter at the highest level of government.
In his communication to Governor Purohit, CM Mann expressed deep concern over the halt in development activities due to the lack of adequate funding. He emphasized the critical role that RDF plays in bolstering rural infrastructure and socio-economic growth. The non-release of funds has hindered vital projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life and livelihood opportunities for villagers across the state.
Furthermore, The Chief Minister urged Governor Purohit to escalate the matter by raising it with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective is to expedite the allocation of RDF funds to Punjab from the central government, enabling the state to rejuvenate stalled development ventures. Notably, Governor Purohit highlighted a prior issue of Chief Minister Mann not responding to his letters, underscoring the urgency and importance of addressing this financial impasse for the progress of Punjab's rural landscape.
