SGPC Rejects Harjinder Singh Dhami’s Resignation: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has not accepted the resignation of its president, Harjinder Singh Dhami, and has urged him to reconsider his decision.
Following an urgent meeting, the SGPC’s interim committee decided to reject Dhami’s resignation and expressed full confidence in his leadership. The committee also formed a delegation that will meet Dhami personally to convince him to continue in his role and not step down under any external pressure.
Dhami, who has been leading the SGPC, tendered his resignation recently, citing undisclosed reasons. However, sources suggest that internal political dynamics and pressure from various factions may have played a role in his decision.
A senior SGPC member, speaking on the matter, stated, "Harjinder Singh Dhami has led the SGPC with dedication, and we believe his leadership is crucial at this time. The committee stands by him and hopes he will reconsider his resignation."
The SGPC delegation is expected to meet Dhami in the coming days to persuade him to continue as president. The final decision now rests with Dhami, who has yet to respond to the committee’s appeal.
