CHANDIGARH: Punjab Minister for Employment, Skill Development and Training Aman Arora has directed the department to link the job portal https://www.pgrkam.com/ with the portals of Technical Education and Industrial Training and Industries Department so that the information about the skilled workers available with these departments can also be ensured on the job portal. Presiding over a review meeting with senior officials of concerned departments here at Punjab Bhavan, Aman Arora said that this step will help in real time updation of data of skilled workers on this platform. This portal is used by various industrial establishments and industries to fulfill their human resource needs.

He asked the authorities to make the youth more aware about the placement cell and the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise (DBEE) so that the youth can be encouraged to register themselves in these centres, thereby enabling them to be able to get information about the new employment opportunities available nowadays. Aman Arora asked the officials to lay special emphasis on registration of skilled persons with disabilities on the job portal and also to launch a campaign to help the workers registered on the job portal to get employment.

Meanwhile, Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Kumar Rahul and Director Deepti Uppal told the Cabinet Minister that more than 10,000 students have been registered under the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) by Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM). Principal Secretary Higher Education Jaspreet Talwar, Secretary Expenditure Muhammad Taiyab, Director Technical Education and Industrial Training DPS Kharbanda and MD Infotech Mahendra Pal were also present in this meeting.
