Petrol Pump Dealer Association's Strike in Punjab Latest News: In a major development, the Petrol Pump Dealer Association's strike has been put on hold as a meeting is set to be held between the Association and the Oil Companies on February 22. 

According to information, the Petrol Pump Dealer Association's call for a strike on February 22, wherein no petrol and diesel would be sold across the state, has been put on hold as the association has decided to wait till the meeting is held.

The association has also stated that if the meeting with the Oil companies on February 22 remains inconclusive, then the Association will initiate the strike on February 29, the end of February. 

As per the previous call, Petrol and diesel were not supposed to be made available for sale in Punjab on February 22. Petrol Pump Dealers Association Punjab (PPDAP) announced a state-wide strike to demand higher margins from oil marketing companies (OMCs). The association had also observed no purchase day on February 15 and even supported the farmers' Bharat Bandh on February 16. 

PPDAP President Paramjit Singh Doaba stated that the dealer margin, which was the commission paid by OMCs to the dealers for selling fuel, has not been revised since August 2017. He also said that the association sent a memorandum to the presidents of OMCS and even to the Prime Minister, urging them to increase the dealer margin.
