Sources revealed that his vitals are now unstable.
Jagjit Singh Dallewal Health Update Latest News Hunger Strike Day 24: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s health has taken a critical turn as his fast unto death entered its 24th day. Sources revealed that his vitals are now unstable, prompting an immediate response from a team of doctors who arrived at the site for urgent medical assistance. In light of these developments, the protest stage has been temporarily shut down to address the escalating concerns over his condition.
The situation has drawn the attention of the Supreme Court, which on Wednesday urged the Punjab Government to act swiftly to safeguard Dallewal’s health. A Bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan issued a stern warning about the potential fallout of any adverse developments.
“The entire state machinery will be blamed if something untoward happens. Extraordinary conditions require extraordinary steps,” the Bench stated, urging authorities to act without hesitation.
Punjab’s Efforts and Farmers’ Resistance
Punjab Advocate General Gurminder Singh informed the court that meetings had been held between state authorities, a representative from the Centre, and Dallewal. However, the farmer leader has steadfastly refused medical tests or treatment. The farmers have also declined to engage with the High Powered Committee established by the court to address their demands.
The Supreme Court emphasized that farmers must not act under peer pressure and urged them to prioritize Dallewal’s health, noting that he must remain healthy to continue leading their cause.
As the standoff continues, concerns are mounting over Dallewal’s condition and the potential consequences of his prolonged hunger strike.
