DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, caught in bribery case, suspended Latest News: CBI has arrested Punjab's Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar in a bribery case, who was arrested yesterday, has been suspended under the orders issued by the government.

Harcharan Bhullar was arrested along with another person on Thursday in a bribery case of eight lakh rupees. The officer was arrested from his office in Mohali after a complaint was filed by a scrap dealer. Harcharan Bhullar was sent to jail in judicial custody by the CBI special court in Chandigarh yesterday.

According to an official order issued by the Punjab Home Department, under Rule 3(2) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, if a government employee is taken into custody on criminal or other charges and remains in custody for more than 48 hours, they are deemed to be suspended by the government under this rule.

Accordingly, the government has suspended IPS officer Harcharan Singh Bhullar with effect from October 16 under the mentioned provision.
