Cockroach Found in Samosa

SAS Nagar (Jasbir Singh Jassi): A disconcerting incident unfolded at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali when a cockroach emerged from a samosa purchased by the mother-in-law of an IAS officer. The severity of serving substandard food was laid bare as Lisa, the mother-in-law of IAS officer Kamal Kumar Garg, discovered the unwelcome intruder in a samosa bought at the airport's waiting room shop. Following the unsettling discovery, airport authorities were alerted, and an inspection took place.

In response to the unsettling incident, Lisa's daughter, Shivangi Garg, took to Twitter to register a formal complaint against the shop owner. Expressing her shock, Shivangi shared the incident publicly, stating, "We are shocked to inform you that today my mother Lisa is traveling to Ahmedabad from Chandigarh. She bought a samosa from a shop at Chandigarh International Airport, in which she found a cockroach. This kind of negligence is highly unacceptable and a gross violation of basic hygiene standards."

Shivangi went on to advocate for strict action against the vendor and emphasized the need for adequate compensation for the physical and mental distress endured by her family due to this incident.

IAS officer Kamal Kumar Garg commented on the situation, highlighting the concern regarding food quality at the international airport. He remarked, "My mother-in-law found cockroaches in her samosas. Luckily, she didn't consume it and discovered it, but many others may have unwittingly ingested such contaminants in their food. It appears that there is a need for more rigorous food safety checks at the airport."

When CEO-Chief Rakesh Ranjan Sahay was reached for comment, he revealed that a show-cause notice had been issued to the shop owner. According to the terms of their agreement, further actions will be taken to address the situation.
