Punjab Weather Update: Dense Fog and Cold Wave Continue to Prevail

Punjab Weather Update News Today: Two days after weather conditions improved in Punjab, the state witnessed a cold wave and dense fog conditions on on Friday morning. As per IMD, dense to very dense fog was very likely to occur over most parts of Punjab and Haryana. 

India Meteorological Department on Thursday issued an Orange alert for January 19. As of now, the weather has been dry in Haryana and Punjab with dense to very dense fog being reported from most places in Punjab and at many places in Haryana. 

The IMD further stated that, as compared to yesterday, there was a rise of 1.9 degrees Celsius in average minimum temperature. However, it is still near normal in the state. 

In the meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Bathinda (AMFU) where the mercury level was at 4 degrees Celsius. 

According to information, Chandigarh recorded 8.5 degrees Celsius, while Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 9.7 degrees Celsius, Amritsar recorded 6.8, Ludhiana 6.8, Patiala 7.7, Pathankot 6.0, Bathinda 4.0, Faridkot 5.0, Gurdaspur 5.0, Ballowal (SBS Nagar) 5.8, Amritsar (AWS) 7.7, Faridkot (AWS) 7.1, Fatehgarh Sahib 8.0, Ludhiana (AWS) 5.6, Samrala (Ludhiana) 8.5, Mohali 8.6, and Ropar recorded 7.9 degrees Celsius.
