Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Member of Parliament (MP) Bhagwant Mann, reacting to the convening of special one-day Vidhan Sabha session by the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government to repeal the three Central agriculture laws, said that Arvind Kejriwal had sent out a strong message to the dictatorial Modi government by tearing copies of the controversial laws.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Friday, Bhagwant Mann said that the resolution adopted by the Kejriwal government against the contentious agriculture laws in the Assembly had planted a severe blow to the Modi government at the right point in time.

He said that by tearing of copies of black laws, Kejriwal had given a clear message to the Modi government that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will never be cowed down under any pressure of those who were hell-bent on ruining farmers in the state.

Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party had been raising its pitch  against the black laws from day one on the streets and in the Parliament, fighting for the rights of the farmers. He said that AAP would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with them in their  fight against the draconian government.

The state president said that when the ordinances on agriculture laws were introduced in the Parliament, the Aam Aadmi Party was the first among the political parties to hold a press conference in Chandigarh in June 2020 on the instructions of party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and sound the trumpet against the anti-farmer legislations.

He said that Arvind Kejriwal is also the only Chief Minister across the country who  challenge the Union Government by tearing copies of the black laws in the Assembly.

Reacting to remarks made by Punjab Congress Minister Vijay Inder Singla against the Kejriwal government, Bhagwant Mann questioned Singla weather he could explain why his Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Finance Minister couldn’t do anything to stop passage of the laws despite being on the panel of the high-powered committee constituted by the Centre.

He asked Singla to explain what stopped Capt. Amarinder Singh to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi till date in his capacity as the Punjab Chief Minister despite repeated requests by the beleaguered farmers and all opposition parties.

The AAP MP cornered Vijay Inder Singla and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa to explain why Capt. Amarinder Singh suddenly went to the house of Union Home Minister Amit Shah just before the meeting of Union Ministers with the farmers and what was the deal on ED cases during the closed door meeting between the two?

Mann lashed out at Badal Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal. asking she could answer the million-dollar question of the farmers of Punjab and the country that when the ordinances on these black laws were brought in the cabinet for discussion and debate, why didn’t she raising her voice against the deadly Bills, saying she and her entire family kept misleading the people of Punjab, especially the farmers, for three months, asserting that the new farm laws in favour of the farmers.

He questioned the studied silence being maintained by former Chief Minister Parkash Singh over the issues and concern by holding their hands in this hour of crisis when they were fighting a decisive battle for survival and sustenance on the Delhi borders in the bone-chilling cold of the winter season.
