The Meteorological Department of Punjab has released its latest report, revealing a decrease of -0.5 degrees Celsius in the average minimum temperature today compared to yesterday. Despite this, the state's temperature remains 2 degrees Celsius above the normal range. Faridkot recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 9.8 degrees Celsius, while Mohali district registered the highest at 14.3 degrees Celsius. Other notable temperatures include 11.5 degrees Celsius in Amritsar, 12.3 in Ludhiana, 12.2 in Patiala, and 10.4 degrees Celsius in Pathankot. Chandigarh recorded a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius.

In parts of Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, the minimum temperature hovers between 10 to 13 degrees. The Meteorological Department predicts that on Saturday, November 18, Delhi may experience a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius. However, concerns about air pollution loom over the capital, with the possibility of the government implementing the odd-even scheme to counteract the poisonous air.

As temperatures continue to decline, residents of Punjab are responding by embracing winter clothing to combat the chill. The dip in temperatures, coupled with the onset of fog, underscores the need for increased vigilance and preparedness during the winter months. The Meteorological Department advises residents to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe amid the changing weather conditions.
