AMRITSAR: In a concerted effort to uplift the youth of Punjab and address the pressing issue of drug addiction, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated 'The Hope Initiative' in Amritsar. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of over 40,000 students at the revered Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), all pledging to shun drugs and embrace a brighter, drug-free future.

Expressing his commitment to this cause, CM Bhagwant Mann underscored his dedication to rejuvenating Punjab and restoring its vibrancy. Abstaining from making any political statements during the event, he encouraged the gathered youth to take a solemn vow against drug consumption and prayed for the successful eradication of this menace from society. The campaign also featured sports activities held across 40 different venues, aiming to channel the youth's energy positively.

"We are embarking on a journey towards a colorful Punjab, where our youth thrive in sports and steer clear of the clutches of drugs," affirmed CM Bhagwant Mann. He celebrated the recent achievement of Punjab's youth in sports, highlighting a record-breaking 19 medals won at the Asian Games, and emphasized the importance of providing ample employment opportunities to keep them engaged and away from harmful substances.

Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh lauded the extensive participation in the program, with more than 40,000 students present physically and thousands engaging online. The event, supported by live streaming capabilities, ensured a broader reach, spreading the message of a drug-free Punjab. Students converged at Golden Temple, joining in prayer and amplifying their commitment to a drug-free society.

During the event, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann commended DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav and Amritsar Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh for their proactive role in organizing and promoting this initiative. He concluded by acknowledging the immense power of collective prayers, stating that when numerous people come together in devotion, significant impacts can be made, reinforcing the resolve to overcome the drug crisis and transform Punjab into a vibrant and prosperous state once again.
