Amritpal Singh to Be Brought Back to Punjab as NSA Period Nears End

Amritpal Singh NSA, Punjab Latest News Today: With the National Security Act (NSA) imposed on Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh set to lapse on April 23, a team of Amritsar Rural Police has departed for Assam to bring him back to Punjab on transit remand.

Currently lodged in Dibrugarh Jail, Amritpal was arrested under the NSA last year following a high-voltage manhunt. Now, as the legal timeframe under the NSA draws to a close, officials are preparing to take further action in connection with an FIR registered at Ajnala police station.

Sources indicate that Amritpal will be presented before a court in Ajnala after his arrival. His return follows the transfer of nine of his close associates, who were earlier shifted to Punjab after their respective NSA periods expired.

Authorities have confirmed that the return process is being carried out under proper legal procedures and that he will face proceedings linked to the Ajnala incident.
