Dilroz murder case: Ludhiana court orders hanging of convict Neelam

Dilroz murder case news today: After over two and a half years of the Ludhiana horror incident wherein a 2.5-year-old Dilroz was murdered, the Ludhiana court on Thursday ordered the death sentence of the murder convict who has been identified as Neelam.

Earlier on Friday, the Ludhiana court had convicted a woman for killing her neighbour’s two-and-a-half-year-old daughter by burying her alive.

The accused, Neelam (35), who is a resident of the Shimlapuri area in Ludhiana, has been convicted of brutally murdering Dilroz Kaur (2), the toddler daughter of her neighbor, Harpreet Singh. As per the police, Neelam had buried Dilroz alive in a pit she dug in the Salem Tabri area on November 28, 2021.

Police further added that Neelam had planned the toddler’s murder because of an old rivalry she had with her family. She buried the child alive after digging a pit in a field near Salem Tabri. After burying her alive, the accused returned home and started behaving as if nothing happened.

However, she was interrogated after police scanned CCTVs and found her taking the girl away on her scooter. During the interrogation, she confessed to the crime she committed.

Likewise, an FIR under section 364 (kidnapping with intent to kill) of the IPC was registered at the Shimlapuri police station, and after the child’s death, sections 302 and 201 of the IPC were also added.
