Punjab Extortion News: In a major breakthrough, the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police have busted an extortion module linked to gangster Goldy Brar, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, said on Sunday (18, January 2026)
The police apprehended 10 operatives during a focused three-week-long operation. They also recovered foreign-made pistols, including two Austrian-made Glock pistols, along with 10 other sophisticated weapons, from the possession of the arrested accused.
The DGP said the arrested operatives were involved in illegal arms trafficking, extortion, and planned murders aimed at creating lawlessness across the state.
FIRs have been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway to nab the remaining associates, the DGP added.
He further stated that the Punjab Police remain committed to crushing organised crime and gangster networks and ensuring peace and security across the state.
