“We verified the claims circulating on social media and found no evidence of a blast,” Bhullar said.
Amritsar Blast Near Islamabad Police Station Latest News Today: A loud “blast-like” noise near the Islamabad Police Station in Punjab’s Amritsar created panic in the early hours of Tuesday, December 17. The incident occurred at around 3 am, but authorities have clarified that no blast took place, and there were no damages or injuries reported on the premises.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar addressed the concerns, stating that the noise was caused by a heavy object falling on the temporary police sentry post located outside the station. He confirmed that the only damage was to the iron sheet covering the top of the sentry post.
“We verified the claims circulating on social media and found no evidence of a blast,” Bhullar said. “Earlier, we had nabbed 10 people belonging to a particular module, including two brothers—one of whom is a juvenile. Another suspect, Aman Khokhar, along with two or three others, are currently on our radar and will be apprehended soon.”
The commissioner assured that investigations are underway to determine any links to previous incidents and emphasized that the police are on high alert. “We are thoroughly verifying what has occurred and will ensure that this matter reaches its logical conclusion,” he added.
Officials are treating the situation with caution, and Bhullar reiterated that the module involved will be neutralized soon. The police remain vigilant to avoid any untoward incidents, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
