Punjab Weather Update News: Temperature above 47.2 degrees in Punjab
Temperature in the state these days is 7.2 degrees higher than usual.
Punjab weather update news today: Residents of Punjab will face intense heat this week. Strong winds are expected to blow starting tomorrow (Tuesday). A red heat alert has been issued in 16 districts of the state today, while a yellow alert has been issued in 7 districts. There has been an increase of 0.6 degrees in temperature today compared to yesterday.
Additionally, the temperature in the state these days is 7.2 degrees higher than usual. Samrala was the hottest, recording a temperature of 47.2 degrees. However, June has recorded 87% less rainfall than normal, with 2.3 millimeters of rain from June 1 to June 16.
The 16 districts where a red alert has been issued for heat and hot winds today are Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala, Mohali, and Malerkotla. Meanwhile, a yellow alert remains in place for Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Firozpur, and Fatehgarh Sahib. The weather department has warned of severe heat in Amritsar, Patiala, and Ludhiana.
In 15 districts, the temperature remained above 45 degrees. During this period, Amritsar recorded 45.8 degrees, Ludhiana 44.6 degrees, Patiala 45.5 degrees, Pathankot 46.0 degrees, SBS Nagar 43.4 degrees, Bathinda 46.3 degrees, Fatehgarh Sahib 44.9 degrees, Firozpur 44.3 degrees, Jalandhar 49 degrees, Samrala 42 degrees, Mohali 44.2 degrees, Ropar 43.7 degrees, and Rupnagar 43.6 degrees.
The health department has issued an advisory to avoid the heat. According to it, one should drink plenty of water to avoid heat. If you suffer from heart, kidney, or liver diseases and drink less water, such people should increase their intake of fluids after consulting a doctor.
Similarly, homemade fluids like lemon water, lassi, coconut water, etc., can be consumed. Also, always wear light-colored clothes when going outside. Cover your head and hands well when stepping out of the house. Use caps and umbrellas. For eye protection, use sunglasses and sunscreen for skin protection.
