Punjab Police Announces Cash Reward of Rs 1 lakh for info about Drone Activities at Border

CHANDIGARH: Taking in view the increasing drone activities at the border, the Punjab Police and BSF high officials held an important meeting today. During the joint press conference, ADGP Arpit Shukla said that in this meeting the DIG of Ferozepur and border range along with the top officials of the army participated. He said that representatives of central agencies were also present in the meeting.

Many important decisions have been taken during this meeting. He said that Rs 20 crore has been released by the Punjab government to enhance the security of the border areas. Answering the questions asked, he said that several decisions have been taken to stop drone activities and drug smuggling across the border. According to the information received from the police officers, now the person giving information about drone activities will be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh by the Punjab Police. Apart from this, he/she will be honored separately by the BSF and the Punjab Police.

ADGP Arpit Shukla said that the identity of the person giving the information would be kept secret. During the address, he further told that NIA and the Punjab Police conducted raid at more than 50 gangster's hideouts during the joint operation. Apart from this, the Punjab Police has carried out searches at about 146 other locations as well.
