Punjab Govt Urges Youth to Support Sehat Yojna Enrollment with Rs 1,000 Daily Incentive
Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh has urged young people with laptops to help enroll beneficiaries under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, offering Rs 1,000 per day for their assistance.
The minister made the announcement while reviewing the ongoing issuance of scheme cards in Sangrur district during a meeting with district officials. He encouraged youth in villages to coordinate with local authorities to participate in the enrollment drive and receive payment for their work.
Dr Singh emphasized that officials should ensure all eligible beneficiaries are covered under the scheme and that the process is conducted transparently and in a mission-oriented manner. He described the program as a transformative initiative aimed at providing quality, cashless healthcare, while helping to reduce financial stress during medical emergencies.
Sources reported that the government’s decision comes after opposition from the computer teachers’ union. The union had raised concerns over the relocation of computers from government schools to panchayats for the purpose of scheme enrollment, warning that it could interfere with computer examinations.
