On Tuesday, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, laid the foundation stone for a new road overbridge at Level Crossing No. 164-AB near the Doraha railway station in Ludhiana district. This event marked an important step toward improving local transportation infrastructure in the area.

The ceremony took place at the designated project site and was attended by railway officials and local representatives. During the brief function, the minister and other dignitaries outlined the purpose of the upcoming bridge, which is designed mainly to address the heavy traffic.

The proposed overbridge is expected to play a key role in reducing congestion at the busy level crossing, easing delays for commuters and road users who currently have to wait for passing trains.

Senior officials from Northern Railway were present at the ceremony and highlighted the bridge as part of ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity between road and rail networks. According to the officials, completing the project will help ensure smoother movement of vehicles in the area.

Construction of the overbridge will also remove the delays caused by frequent closures of the level crossing gates. Once operational, the structure is expected to provide a safer passage for both vehicles and train operations.
