Mann Pitches Punjab to Canada: Seeks Stronger Trade Ties with British Columbia
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday underscored the need to strengthen trade relations with Canada, especially the province of British Columbia. The aim is to foster cooperation for the benefit of businesses and people on both sides.
During a meeting with the Premier of British Columbia, David Eby, in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister said that Canada has always been a strong partner for India and Punjab.
Mann noted that the state is "fully prepared and enthusiastic" to collaborate with Canadian businesses in sectors of mutual importance.
CM Mann highlighted Punjab’s economic strengths and identified the state as a leader in agro-processing, textiles, engineering goods, IT services, and renewable energy.
He said that Punjab's robust infrastructure and skilled workforce, which is proficient in the English language, make the state an ideal destination for Canadian investors.
Mann further emphasised that the state deeply values its relationship with Canada and looks forward to strengthening the existing foundation of trade and investment ties.
