CHANDIGARH: A Startling incident occurred at Chandigarh's Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) on Monday morning when a fire broke out at the eye center. The Immediate discovery of the fire prompted a rapid response from senior PGI officials, ensuring the safety of patients and their families, albeit causing a moment of panic.

Patients and their family members at the eye center were swiftly evacuated to safety, with a significant gathering of both patients and staff outside the affected area. Fortunately, no injuries to patients have been reported at this time. As a precaution, the eye center's outpatient department (OPD) was promptly closed.
