Cabinet Minister Meet Hayer Hands Over Appointment Letters to 68 Clerks of Water Resources Dept
Govt will create more employment opportunities for the youth in Future: Minister
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Water Resources Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to the newly selected 68 clerks in the Water Resources Department at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. Of these clerks, 42 have been recruited in the Water Resources Department and 26 in the Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation.
Congratulating the newly-appointed employees, the Water Resources Minister said that they should now work with full dedication and sincerity so that people's faith in the government offices could be further increased. He said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has given appointment letters to more than 29,000 youth in just one year. The Punjab government is providing employment to the youth on priority basis. The Water Resources Minister said that in the coming days also, the government will create more employment opportunities for the youth by setting up new projects and by creating an investment-friendly environment in the state.
Meet Hayer appealed to the youths who have received the appointment letters to perform their services in the public interest with sincerity and honesty. He said that the Water Resources Department is directly connected with the farmers, so the newly appointed employees can contribute for the welfare of the farmers by performing their services with full cordiality.
Notably, Ranjit Singh Cheema, Chairman, Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation, extended gratitude to the Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister for speedy recruitment to strengthen the department. Among others, Krishan Kumar, Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, M.D. Pawan Kapoor and other officers were present on this occasion.
