Punjab Weather Update: IMD issues Red Alert, dense fog, cold conditions likely at few places

Punjab Weather Update For Tomorrow News: India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued a Red alert for January 17 followed by an Orange alert on January 18 and then a Yellow alert on January 19 and 20. 

As per the India Meteorological Department, a red alert has been issued in Punjab, predicting dense to very dense fog and cold day to severe cold day conditions at a few places. 

Although IMD has issued a warning in the state, several areas have started seeing the sun during the afternoon hours. IMD also stated that the weather has been dry in Haryana and Punjab with dense to very dense fog reported from most places in Punjab and at many places in Haryana. Similarly, cold day to severe cold day conditions occurred at few places in Punjab and cold day conditions occurred at isolated places in Haryana. 

While giving weather warnings for the next 5 days in Punjab, the IMD stated that dense to very dense fog is likely at many places on the 16th and 17th of January, at a few places thereafter in the state while cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely at few places on 16th and cold day conditions at few places on 17th and 18th in the state.

It further stated cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely at many places on the 16th and cold wave to severe cold wave conditions at a few places, thereafter in the state.
