Virsa Singh Valtoha Makes Self-Exit from Shiromani Akali Dal Amid Controversy

Virsa Singh Valtoha Makes Self-Exit from Shiromani Akali Dal Latest News: In a dramatic turn of events, senior leader Virsa Singh Valtoha has decided to voluntarily exit from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) following a series of controversies and public criticism. This move comes after the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh, ordered Valtoha's expulsion from the party for a period of ten years.

Valtoha had come under fire after publicly questioning the Jathedar's independence, alleging that he was working under the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

These accusations, considered highly sensitive within the Sikh community, sparked outrage among party members and followers. In response, Giani Raghbir Singh instructed SAD’s working president, Balwinder Singh Bhunder, to enforce Valtoha’s expulsion, marking a firm stance against internal dissent within the party.

Rather than wait for the official expulsion to be executed, Valtoha chose to step down voluntarily, stating that he did not want to create further division within the party. His exit signifies a major shakeup for the SAD, which is already navigating political challenges in Punjab.

Valtoha’s decision to leave the party highlights the internal tensions within the SAD, and it remains to be seen how this will affect the party's unity moving forward. His self-exit has also sparked discussions around the growing influence of national politics on Punjab's regional parties, and the impact it may have on their internal dynamics.
